Dutton Ranch Chardonnay
Butterscotch, a bit herbal. Forgot about this one. Past it’s prime. Bummer.

Jun 24th, 2023Green Apple on the nose; limestone and toasted caramel. Sea salt and a little bit of marzipan on the palate but certainly not as savory as the ‘12 McCrea last weekend. More tropical fruit like with mango! Holding up surprisingly well with crisp acidity. Not getting any better, enjoy now!

Mar 24th, 2019Here we are with Arvin and Beverly Sodhani in their home for a fantastic experience! Starting off with this beautiful baby. Soft and elegant butterscotch and hints of vanilla. Round and elegant showing NO signs of oxidation!! Honeysuckle notes

Feb 21st, 2019Past it’s prime. Over ripe yellow fruit, vanilla, lacks any finish. Good wine, before.

Sep 1st, 2018A good bottle. Nice golden color, pineapple fruit, spicy oak, but balanced.

Wednesday Wine Committee. As always, wines are tasted blind. 1 sparkler, 2 whites, 4 reds, 1 dessert.
I pegged the varietal and producer correct here. ✔️ It had an awesome green tint in color. Almost a nuttiness characteristic that I associate with Ritchie vineyard chards, but not quite fully there. Not a butter bomb. Refined and elegant.

Bottle no. 04760 (of 22512).
You need to enjoy this with an open mind.
Most would probably say this is over the hill but personally I enjoy the "skeleton" of aged CA Chardonnays.
At age 22 there's naturally no baby fat, oak or alcohol to distract your palate but just the framework of a super solid and balanced wine.

Constant with my last notes. Paired really well with shrimp cocktail and pan seared diver scallops.

Jan 31st, 2017Light pale straw color in the glass. Mysterious nose of campfire charred marshmallow, earth aromas and slight lemon/citrus appeal. Zippy Lemon curd, restrained cream notes secondary vanilla and honey. Well built Chardonnay that is focused. Long finish pushing minerals and nutty flavors.
