Deep Ruby color with dark berry fruit aromas and oaky notes. On the palate flavors of ripe blackberry with cherry flavors, oak, pepper and some hints of smoky vanilla spice. Ok mouthfeel, good balance, fine firm tannins, medium finish ending with soft oak. Drink now, no aging benefit!

Alexander Valley Vineyards is owned and operated by the Harry Wetzel family. Founded in 1975, it is located on Cyrus Alexander's old homestead. Aromas of dark berry fruits with sweet spice. On the palate cherry and blackberry flavors with cacao and light pepper spice. Fine tannins good drinking now, ok balance with medium finish.

18 year old cab always exciting to try. Unfortunately this bottle was past its prime. However, the real lesson here is that I shouldn’t buy aged cabs that I know nothing about. Without a recent vintage as a reference it is hard to say whether this wine is past its prime or just underwhelming to begin with.

Young as all get out but not too bad. Lots of red, ruby, dark cassis, touch of spice, loads of baking spices, caramel, loamy soils, violets and dry red florals. Finishes decent for such a young wine. @ Centurion Lounge SFO

For a bottle you can reliably find at the grocery store, pretty decent. It is certainly made in a a style that I don’t drink much of, but it is well made for the price.
