This Spanish pinkie has a beautiful red color, almost brick red, and a nose which carries red fruit along on an earthy bouquet. That earth is also notable on the palate, where it once again travels in tandem with cherries and strawberries.

Super ripe strawberries. Plus floral notes from the big dose of Viura.

The Viña Real rosado was made from Garnacha, Tempranillo and Viura grapes grown in the Rioja Alavesa subregion. The nose carries plenty of ripe, red strawberries with a hefty herbal influence, as if the green stems are included. On the palate, the fruit elbows the green out of the way, but a lovely, earthy apricot flavor is introduced. Acidity is good, if not ripping, and the wine’s finish is rather lengthy and very pleasant.

Copper salmon in color.
Floral, blood orange peel, frankensence, not my favorite as the bitter notes were overwhelming and heightened by the high acidity. Has promise but needs better vinification.

Very nice 90 degree weather wine. Floral/soapy, lean, clean and tart with lots of cut. Killer for $5.
