Blackberry and apricot. Juicy and structured. Long finish with a streak of granular tannins. I think this is gonna get really good over the next few years. 6% new oak. Benefits from air.

Quite a lot of structure from this entry level Carriere offering. Fruit from five separate sites in the Chehalem Range. Loads of acidity with vivacious red fruits and earth. Hazy cranberry, cherry, and strawberry fruit with persistent length. A serious wine with tenacity. Ages a year in French oak (6% new).

Deep, bright-rimmed magenta. Smoke- and spice-accented cherry and black raspberry aromas take on a suave floral quality with air. Supple and broad on entry and then more taut in the midpalate, offering bitter cherry, dark berry and candied licorice flavors and a hint of espresso. Finishes long and chewy, with dusty tannins lending final grip. 15% new oak. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, August 2020)

J.K. Carriere’s entry-level Willamette Valley Pinot really shines in 2016. An elegant wine from an outstanding vintage, it smoothly blends generous New World fruit expression with Old World earthiness and balance. The 2016 is delicious right now but it can age, too. $25.00 (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, May 2019)

Wanted to get drunk under the guise of learning more about the 2012 vintage of Oregon pinots. Mission accomplished. This is some yummy shit!

Purple color. Red strawberry jelly nose with hint if spice. Fleshy wild strawberry palate with nice acidity. Lingering finish. Hedonistic. $30

Big for Prosser, but that's what 2012 gave everyone. A crowd pleaser, but still typical JK Carriere with a touch of funk, good acid and soft tannins.

Found this one in the cellar, still a solid wine. I don't remember what it was like closer to release but it's lovely now. Plenty of balance and herbal and cherry notes on the nose
