This old-vine (mostly) Grenache is really elegant and good. Gorgeously pure nose of framboise and warm crushed rock dust (sandstone and granite?). A bit of sweet baking spice. Mouthfilling but not in the least heavy in the mouth, it’s got a soft texture framed with a bit of fine-grained tannin. There’s a pure fruit note that clings on the finish. Acids are medium low but the balance is there, calibrated on the sultry side. I have been down on the Southern Rhône of late but this makes me feel more optimistic.

Too many people drinking their 2010s too early. This just needed time in the cellar to come to life! Meat fat, deep red and blue fruits. Wonderful Grenache fruit comes out with about an hour's decant. Brambly red currants and sour cherries blend with savory herbs on the palate. No heat and a surprising dose of acidity and tannins.

A touch sweet through the palate but not without length and an interesting earthiness.

Lovely, as usual. A little overpowered by steak, but a joy nonetheless.

Kirsch, fig, black raspberry, lavender and wet stone. This is Posh Grenache.

Really tight at first. Needs some serious air.

Nicely aged Southern Rhône Grenache. Pretty full at 14.5% abv. I had it open for about 3 hours, but it stayed a bit astringent and strongly tannic. Didn’t quite blossom, but still a good winter red. Lots of sediment- the last glass was mostly undrinkable.

Follow up on the second bottle: The fruitiness opened up much more, but still a lot of sediment at the end. Was best on day 3.

A bit young but should get better with a few more years in bottle
