This wine is kind of an anomaly. Light and somewhat lean but super super smooth and round on the palate. While fruit and tannin are shy, the silky mouth feel wins me over.

13 years old, a kilo of sediment and still a Sahara desert-worth of tannins in the mouth. I fear for how this wine tasted a decade ago. Could probably age this one another 10 years. That said, it's got fantastic length and nicely intertwined minerals and berries. Not the greatest vintage year, and still I'd call this a good wine. Very brunello-esque.

Saving the best for last. Probably my fifth bottle of this in the last year, and this one, by far the best. Impeccable cork, earthy nose that blows off into soft cherry fruit from a well aged bottle from Tuscany. If I tasted this bottle first, I would buy more. But with 12 years of age, drinking beautifully. Acid, tannins in tact, while still providing supple fruit. Well done Belguardo.

Medium acidity, medium body w sour cherry, porcini mushroom and crushed granite. Moderate finish with smoke and wild game notes.
