Canon-Fronsac Red Bordeaux Blend

Deep Ruby with aromas of red berry fruits and cacao pepper spice. On the palate flavors of black fruits and spicy cedar notes. Lively acidity, firm tannins, medium finish ending with fruit, chocolate and spicy oak.

Not bad Bordeaux but lacking for the price. More subdued style. Herbaceous and earth centric, with equal distribution of tannin and acid. However, it simply lacks power.

Vintage 2009 - brownish rim in colour, classic and true to type Bordeaux bouquet with laurel and eucalyptus. Nice ripened wine to give a lot of pleasure. #bordeaux #canonfronsac

2012v. Deep purple. Not a huge nose on this wine- it's mostly oak and sort of a vegetal/bell pepper smell. Very dry on the palette, with just a little plum. The finish is long, with a noticeable new oak. The tannins are definitely there but not grippy and overbearing. This wine was a little perplexing at first. Further research shows that the winemaker blends merlot, cab franc, and malbec. I prefer the fruitier Fronsacs, but this would appeal to those who like it dry and a little rustic. 14% ABV.

Vintage 2000 - qualifies well above its modest Canon Fronsac AOC, terrific freshness, true to type Bordeaux in smell with autumnleaves, laurel, plums. Great balance, full of life after 17 years. I pay respect to this vintner, chapeau!!

Sweet Raspberry and ripe cherry on the nose with a hint of oak. Cherry and red fruit on the palate, with a hint of chocolate on the finish. Medium acidity and low, integrated tannins. Give it an hour and it warms up and the acidity goes down.

Suave sophisticated, a country squire wearing an ascot. Seamless, well-knit, go get some w/approachable price point. Firm believer in the value & quality of Fronsac

Stubborn and moody. Showed more fruit after an hour of aeration
