Initially somewhat reticent but after the hour mark this beauty totally turns the corner and opens up to flaunt a seductive bouquet of mineral laced raspberry fruit, licorice and fresh violets. The palate is expansive and succulent with a beautiful texture and notably impressive depth and length for ‘simple’ Bourgogne. Most importantly, it’s so Roumier and the wonderful 2019 vintage is shown here in spades, a combination of ripeness, purity and definition that is going to age especially gracefully.

It’s no secret that this wine punches way above its label and that is demonstrated by its inflated secondary market price. A wonderful youthful structure that needed every minute of its 3 hours in the decanter.
Scents of raspberry , earth and hints of oak suck you right in.. Lots of energy and generous red and black fruit battling with mineral undertones . The balance is impressive and should carry this wine to new heights in the many years to come.

Sour cherries, strawberries, toasted wood and peppers on the nose. Juicy and fresh strawberries and cherries, bit of dried herbs, pepper, wood and leather on the palate. Balanced and good finish.

This bottle was super appealing to me. The aroma screamed, drink me, with pretty, fresh, late June raspberry, and the wine was juicy, tangy and slightly spicy. Ripe strawberry and cherry. Would happily drink it again.

Kind of light and uninspired. Not roumier in any way other than oak

Gained weight and body over time. Kinda green but nice dark cherry and eucalyptus.
