Whoa- the abv now is up to 15%, & I’m not sure this bottling is up for it. A favorite maker, & I decanted for 3+ hours. Stewed black fruits & blackberries.

Red fruit, black fruit, vanilla, tobacco

Trying the ‘13 vintage. Glad I found it. Needs a couple of hours to open up, then it is smooth, and nicely balanced.

incredible wine for the $

There's some of the sour cherry happening on the nose and palate, but it certainly isn't a fruit-driven wine. Perfect partner for the homemade pizzas, but as a stand-alone wine this might be a tough sip.

Smells like chianti, tastes like chianti, but not like very good wine. Low acidity and lack of concentration are the main detractors.

Nice and smooth Chianti Classico. At Le Papagayo. WS has the '13 rated at 91 Pts. Need to try that too. Rating affirmed 4/23/17.

Too woodsy for my taste. Seemed to be masking the fruit. Maybe there wasn't any.
