Dark plum, chocolate, mild baking spice. Too heavily oaked for me, fruit feels a bit dull.

Like ! Absolutely, medium to full, rich with blueberry and raspberry overtones. Not expensive. Great for barbecue and burgers .

Cranberry and tobacco on the nose. Deep red color. Thick and dark. Full body and velvety on the palate. Pepper, berry, burnt cherry, orange peel. Medium tannin, lingering finish. A solid Shiraz. Love these Aussie wines.

A photo of our lioness (yes she has her tongue 😛 out) with the Lioness of McLaren Vale 😻 This one is for my fellow cat and wine people - you know who you are!

Thank you Dandelion Vineyards for this delicious Lioness of McLaren Vale Shiraz 2019 sample bottle.

This is another highly rated Shiraz from the Dandelion team and it retails for only $30! It’s made by winemaker Elena Brooks and spends 18 months in new, but predominately older French Oak barriques before being bottled (no fining or filtration).

To be totally honest with you, we decanted it and then enjoyed it in bed watching Snow Piercer on Netflix. A fantastic combo!!

My personal opinion:

It’s a deep inky red purple colour in the glass. Plums, blueberries, pepper spice, rose petals and a gorgeous yummy vanillin oak aroma rises from the glass. While in the mouth it’s juicy and thirsty quenching with a refreshing cranberry finish. Totally delectable.

This #wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
