Cooler climate rhone blend. Think Arnot Roberts style. Blue fruit dominate, drink now. 2012

Great final night dinner with Kale and Ranko Anderson. First of the reds:
Deep ruby red with purplish hues. Nose started off with very savory with tons of olive tapenade and leather. After around 30 minutes it completely changed with purple floral notes and tight black and blue berries. Well integrated moderate tannins (6/10), and balanced acidity. Plush palate with dark berries and layers of savory undertones and twigs. Excellent structure and built to last. Drink till 2025.

First red we tried from Kale Anderson at his own personal winery, Kale Wines. Deep and dark ruby red. Interesting nose with notes of dark chocolate and forest floor. Definitely some savory notes too. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and full bodied Rhone blend. Silky, smooth, thick, and creamy texture coated with dark fruits like berries and plums. Strong on the attack, seems heavily extracted. Long and lingering finish. Got a little drier on day two. So much structure and complexity going on in this wine and only for $45. Solid wine and worth checking out if you haven't. Drink till 2025.

2011. 70% Syrah, 30% Grenache. Nice nose and balanced with no rough edges. Pop and pour. Really enjoyed this!

Really nice distinctive wine. Very pretty. With while cluster ferment employed on the Grenache the wine shoes perfect balance between fruit and depth. Definitely put in the cellar and make certain to have enough in hand to drink now and throughout the year. Fantastic wine.

Served with tobacco and coffee roasted pork tenderloin, amarena cherry gastrique and celery root mashed potatoes. Great dark fruit in the wine.
