Finger Lakes Unoaked Chardonnay 2023

So good! Smooth. Light citrus on nose but not on taste buds. Anyone whoever stated they did not like Chardonnay would drool — 3 months ago

St. Urbans-Hof Ockfener Bockstein Grosses Gewächs Riesling 2019

What a pleasure. Somewhat a beaut on the nose, but so powerful on the palate. Stone fruit and green apple and a little bitterness on the finish. — 5 months ago

At tasting in Eugenia’s Garden Ukrainian Benefit flight (!). The reason for the flight (as we just bought one from Weis). Very intriguing complex dark red fried nose and lively texture with earthiness lacing the fruit and good finish. — 2 years ago

St. Urbans-Hof Bockstein Auslese Riesling 2014

After only ten years, this one had lost some of its zing; it was a little earthy, but still full of acidity. Paired it with cherry almond cheesecake, and it didn’t have the upfront burst of sweetness to stand up properly. — 3 months ago

Winzer Select Finger Lakes Riesling 2020

“Riesling “K” references “Kabinett.” Light straw color with some greenish highlights. Aromas and flavors of gooseberry, white peach, white flowers, lemon and slate. The lemon flavor intensifies on the very long finish. Slight bit of RS and slightly oily texture. Medium body, clean and quite vibrant. Bristling acidity and very complex. Another excellent effort by a solid FLX producer. — a year ago
