Gorgeous translucent color and huge mid season cherries on the nose. Tons of spice and tar. Terrific clarity. Smells bright and lifted. Palate is super pure and juicy with great concentration and freshness. Really engaging freshness and so sappy. Even a hint of finesse which is unusual at this level. Great texture, sweetness and mouthfeel. Good grippy, sweet and velvety tannins. Nice finish and a hint of opulence. Cannot wait for 19 Barolo. Will be a knockout. This gets more and more fine as it airs but still has a level of rustic charm. Terrific. — 4 years ago
Been 2 years and wow is this a stunner. Nose is gorgeous with mashed roses, tobacco, cigar, spice and other florals. Some rich cherry fruit as well. Red all the way. Really perfumed and aromatic. Just stunning. Palate is rich and deep with awesome freshness and cut and such velvety and sweet tannins. Unreal finish and delicacy. Terrific clarity and purity of fruit. Tannins getting bigger with air but it’s so gorgeous and balanced. Amazing length to the finish. — 9 months ago
Nice Yong Barolo, worth it. — 2 years ago
Wow. Just wow. Totally wow. Nose is just beyond. The finest roses in the store at their most full expressiveness. Amazing clarity and depth. Just hypnotic. Stunningly detailed cherry fruit with such clarity you want to cry. It’s so beautiful. Spices. Some tar but it’s really a cherry/rose explosion. Wow. Insane sweet fruit and density but classic Saffirio elegance and finesse. Sara Vezza has crushed the 2015 vintage. Perfect balance and just the most unreal, clear, delicate fruit. Inner mouth florals are terrific. Velvety and substantial tannins that are crammed with sweet, dark opulent fruit. Long finish. This has the guts to last 20+ years and needs maybe 7-10 years. Opposite of the regular which is ready to go now. Superb wine. — 5 years ago

🍇 100% Arneis | Roero DOCG, Piedmont, Italy
A classic Northern Italian white, crafted from Arneis grapes sourced across the villages of Vezza d’Alba, Piobesi, and Monteu Roero, all part of the heartland of the Roero appellation.
On the nose:
Fragrant and inviting, with aromas of white flowers, ripe pear, and a citrus lift. A gentle thread of mineral elegance keeps it grounded and regionally expressive.
On the palate:
Dry, crisp, and clean, with a smooth texture, refreshing acidity, and a subtle, pleasantly bitter almond note on the finish — a signature Arneis trait. Light-bodied yet structured, it’s harmonious and polished, with more personality than your average summer white.
Food pairing:
Versatile and food-friendly, perfect with seafood, light pasta dishes, grilled veggies, and fresh cheeses like burrata or robiola.
A true gem from Piedmont expressive, regional, and quietly elegant.
Cheers to Arneis done right! 🍐🍋🌸
