BBQ night hidden treasure with this Valpolicella gem from 2014 drinking in 2023. Perfect silky tannins and great oak and cherry notes with earthy raspberry finish. Nicely balanced for a good value — 15 days ago
This wine was deeply hued, and concentrated, leaving staining on the glass.
On the nose it offered dried black cherry, blackberry preserves, creme de cassis, blackcurrant, plum, prune, fig notes next to black licorice, violet, cedar, vanilla, and leather notes.
It epitomized a full body style, with high alcohol (16.49), a fulsome mouthfeel, and robust intensity of aromas and flavors; tannins were fine-grained, ripe, silky and well-integrated. The finish was long.

Grocery store adventures part 5. Ripe golden apple, tangerine pith, fresh almonds, honeysuckle nectar, saline, white pepper on the nose and palate. Refreshing juicy mouthfeel with a short finish but that pepper spice lingers a while. Very impressive for such a budget bottle — 3 days ago

Dark ruby brown coloration. On the nose, cherry, raisin, vanilla, minerals and oak. On the palate, cherry, vanilla, raisin, oak, chocolate and a long finish of same. Full body with nice tannins. Very good, representative amarone - at $60 at B-21 not a bad value. — 19 days ago

One of the great bargains in Italian reds, Campofiorin is atypical Veneto blend with Corvina up front and giving the wine black cherry, red cherry and sour cherry, red plum, violet, and a hint of leather and dried cherry. This is a very contemporary evocation of Ripasso - more depth than Valpolicella without sacrificing bright acidity. Great balance of velvet tannins, high acidity and plenty of fruit to support the 15% abv without any sense of burn. Really enjoyable and a versatile partner for food. — 10 days ago
