Very nice floral notes. Nice mouthfeel — 4 years ago
Tatsuriki from Honda Shoten in Hyogo, Japan. Junmai Ginjo.
100 % Yamada Nishiki rice.
White peach, spring flowers and ume (green plums) on the nose.
Sweet honey dew melon, orange blossom, kumquat, lychee and a creaminess that lasts forever.
There is an elegance to this Nihon shu.
We had fresh caught local Spot Prawns sashimi and local diver caught octopus grilled.

Deeper more molasses taste than regular ume shu. Love it! — 8 years ago
Straya Day vino.
Fresh. Ume, peach, apricot, preserved orange peel, white flowers, and vanilla on the nose. Indian spices as it opens up. Carries over to the palate. Honey. Interesting peppery notes too. Long finish.
Delicious concentrated Sauternes. 2001's a good year I hear. Still needs time - long life ahead. My only issue is the acid. I feel it needs a tad bit more to balance out the sweetness. — 9 years ago

One could call this a cult wine. Took a while to come by this producer in Japan, but finally found it off-the-beaten track, in Hamamatsu. I reckon it needs time, super reductive on the nose and palate, finally revealed some fruit 2 hours in. Sour cherry and ume to me, sauvage, elegant for sure, heaps of acid. — 8 years ago
Peach taste. Excellent. — 10 years ago
This is showing so nicely, with a robust perfume of stone fruit, jasmine, ripe citrus and peach blossom, leading in to a pleasing just off-dry palate that is thick, stony, and delicately tannic. Mirabelle plum and even an exotic note of ume plum carry through to the back end. Fantastic. — 3 years ago

Raisin tight enough; no character yet.
20 minutes later: Ooh light cherry cola! Had it with my weirdly chocolate tasting homemade soba. I guess seaweed, tsuru no moto, tamari, egg, sesame oil caramelize in the mouth and make this wine like a trip to 7-Eleven in 1986. Me likie. — 7 months ago
