Dark purple with color to the rim. Big nose of plum and elderberry compote in an oak bowl. Echoed on the full-bodied palate supported by juicy medium acidity and non-threatening medium minus tannins. Surprisingly smooth despite the 15.2% alcohol. Probably the best thing Prisoner Wine Company makes. A burly California style Merlot with enough finesse for fine meals but still sippable (over time… again 15.2% 😏) enough for casual wine and cheese evenings. Drink now through 2028, but don't expect much development. — 4 months ago
I’m obsessed! It’s so smooth with nice notes of ripe fruit! I feel like I read reviews that said it was a harsh finish but I feel that it finishes nicely. I would absolutely recommend giving it a try! — 6 months ago
Age that Fruh! At 10 this is really coming into its own Gorgeous nose of wet earth, spice and desiccated leaves and tree bark. An interesting citrus note as well. So expressive. Just a stunning nose. The fierce tannins of this have calmed down and it’s an ultra silky and has superb concentration and awesome mid season cherry fruit and some blackberry overtones. Sweet tannins and exceptional length. Air is always this wine’s friend. — 7 days ago

Very Dark Cherry with chocolate notes and a tannin pucker. Delicious indeed! — 5 months ago
Paired this with red beans, chicken, andouille sausage, and Jasmine rice. Both were made for each other. — 7 months ago
