Full bodied, spicy, and a bit earthy. Excellent — a year ago
Another excellent Testarossa Pinot….this one on the nose was as fruity as expected but on the palate more refined, slightly earthy even, probably the age….agree that the Testarossas bring darker tones that distinguishes them from other good Pinots…perfect with pan seared duck breast, befitting the season — 4 years ago
Super smooth full bodied with cherry notes — 5 years ago
Silky smooth. Easy to pair (burgers were great) or not. To quote CWC, “aromas of ripe cherry, roasted strawberry, lemon zest, papaya, cranberry, orange, and oak spice…” “citrus and red fruit on the palate” “with refreshing acidity and polished tannin…” I would like more please 😬 — 5 years ago
Fruity, balanced. Some stone Very nice now — 2 months ago
Testarossa – Doctor’s Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019
Santa Lucia Highlands, Central Coast – California, USA 🇺🇸
Overview
Sourced exclusively from the Doctor’s Vineyard, a site celebrated in the Santa Lucia Highlands for its elevated position, cool ocean breezes, and long hang time that delivers both power and finesse. This Pinot reflects the vineyard’s pedigree, marrying intensity with elegance.
Aromas & Flavors
Bright raspberry, black cherry, and cranberry lead, layered with rose petal, wild sage, and a dusting of clove. Earthy hints of forest floor and a touch of mineral salinity highlight the vineyard’s coastal influence.
Mouthfeel
Supple and polished, with medium body and lively acidity. The tannins are fine yet structured, guiding the red fruit core into a graceful, spice-tinged finish.
Food Pairing
Exquisite with herb-crusted lamb chops, seared salmon with wild mushrooms, or roasted beet and goat cheese salad. Each pairing highlights the wine’s balance of red fruit vibrancy and earthy nuance.
The Verdict
Doctor’s Vineyard continues to prove why it’s one of the most admired sites in the Highlands—delivering Pinot Noir with clarity, depth, and a distinctive coastal imprint. A wine that sings of place, perfect for enjoying now or holding a few more years. — 9 months ago

Decanted 2+ hours….seriously funky nose early but mellowed out and turned into very austere yet still strong fruit, mostly plum, not a hint of acidity. Like a middle aged Bordeaux. Love Testarossa — 5 years ago
A very nice Pinot. A fruit forward start with hints of spice, and notes of cherry and raspberry. There is something about this that makes it special, maybe it’s how smooth it is or how the fruits blend together to create a unique flavor. — 3 months ago

Decent bottle with wonderfully warm and inviting atmosphere. Bold taste that stands separate from the labels more well known offerings of pinot noirs and chardonnays. — 2 years ago

This is a pure Pinot Noir nose with strong cherry and spice aromas. The flavors coat the tongue and leads to along finish with citrus overtones. — 19 days ago
