Albariño from vineyards in A Pobra, in the Barbanza e Iría IGP (north of Rias Baixas). Expressive nose with aromas of green apple, citrus and some herbal notes (fennel). Slightly round, but no sign of oak. Fresh, mineral, zesty acidity, crushed rocks — 4 years ago
A ”mid range” Priorat from Terroir Al Limit of 4,684 bottles s that we tasted at the winery but much better at home & as good as the 2014 we had a month ago but showing more red fruits & slightly more depth in body but freshener & dryer as it needs a few years 😍 For €53 this is just superb 👏 it screams elegance 💖 Another winner from @gabymeetswine @vilaviniteca

Simply amazing. These 1800's vines produce Zinfandel grapes of superb quality, and the TDO winemakers treat them with respect - no jamminess, no crazy high alcohol, no residual sweetness. Recommend to friends who hate Zinfandel! — 10 years ago
Simple syrup, 12/23/21, better than I would think Albariño would be — 4 years ago
Classic aged zin from some of the oldest existing vines in the USA. Probably a bit past peak, but no need to hurry up in drinking these as it should hold for another decade. Mega 90’s bottle art, complete with super tall bottle. — 6 years ago
Slightly get tannins at finish. Pure black berry with s nice, round mouthfeel. This wine is very pleasant and versatility enough for s grilled steak but also all by its lonesome. — 9 years ago

Albino Armani – “Colle Ara” Pinot Grigio, 2023
Terra dei Forti DOC – Valdadige – Italy 🇮🇹
Overview
A skin-contact Pinot Grigio from Valdadige, crafted with short maceration to extract color, texture, and phenolic grip. The 2023 vintage brings a fresh, lifted profile, balancing structure with vibrancy, far from the neutral, conventional style.
Aromas & Flavors
Layered and expressive: dried orchard fruit, orange peel, subtle spice, and tea-like notes. Savory nuances with a light herbal edge.
Mouthfeel
Textural and structured with gentle phenolic grip (almost tannin-like). Dry, with notable sapidity and salinity, supported by 2023’s bright acidity. Clean, persistent finish without astringency.
Food Pairings
Ideal with Asian fusion, noodles, grilled seafood, and umami-driven dishes. Also excellent with roasted vegetables or lightly spiced cuisine.
Verdict
A smart, expressive Pinot Grigio that bridges classic Italian precision and orange wine philosophy. The 2023 vintage adds extra lift, making it both intriguing and highly drinkable. A perfect “surprise bottle.”

Pinot Grigio has naturally pink/grey skins, which—when macerated, create that copper hue and subtle structure most modern styles avoid. — a month ago
