This is my new go-to pinot. Dark brooding and spicy. Very Gibbston Valley in character - almost up to Valli or Gibbston Valley single vineyard bottlings, but at half the price this is a strong buy. — 4 years ago
Classic Central Otago dark brooding character, but with more elegance than Gibbston Valley or Valli. The nose is all blue and black fruit, with a vein of cedar spice, Med-full bodied, complex, with a silky mouthfeel. Serious weight, but not heavy. A cross between the dark weight of Otago and a good Gevrey. Strong buy. — 5 years ago

Red and blue fruits give way to orange zest , animal fur ,baking spices violets and minerals . Rich and full-bodied on the palate yet has Wonderful elegance and mineral infused finish with lingering cherry and dry extract . This wine comes from the valley floor and you get the richness and depth from the heavier soil. A stunning bottle that will improve over the next few years and last at least a decade more . — 7 years ago

Raisins bit of Sherry-like taste. Not a lot of tanines but makes lips tingle. Quite nice and full. Easy enough to drink. — 5 years ago
Dark and luminous. On the nose, this is a dead ringer for a big Gibbston Valley pinot. Red and black fruit, cherry, but the spice is the overriding trait. A very spicy cherry character with lovely silky mouthfeel. Broad but a little less structured and a bit shorter than a Valli or Gibbston Valley, but at $52, much better value. — 7 years ago

This is my favorite white wine. I’m a sucker for earthy/yeasty/cloudy wines in red so this is quite a surprise in white — 8 years ago

Feudi del Pisciotto Giambattista Valli Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG 2016: 60% Nero d’Avola/40% Frappato. Aromatic, red fruits, soft spice and a long pleasant finish. Sicily’s only DOCG & a Gambero Rosso 3 Bicchieri award winner! Seek it out & give it a try! Cheers🍷 — 6 years ago
More spice and less full fruit character than Central/Gibbston expression.. nose says plum but palate is dominated by Sour cherry giving freshness. Tasted back to back with the Etna, this lost bigtime. — 7 years ago
