Wow. What a nose. Spice, moss, red fruits, gorgeous purity, cranberry bog, floral and ethereal. So soft and juicy. Sensuous. Gorgeous tannins. So velvety. Awesome.

Needs an hour. Dont waste sips before then. Maybe needs 2 hours. Density creeps up over time.
Nose is gorgeous sweet earth. Cranberry flower. An our in this is grand cru. Hard to describe but gorgeous deep and dense. Amazing cranberry perfume. You duck it in and it seems like a half a sniff fills the nostrils.
Palate is perfect sweet cranberries. Gorgeous texture. Incredible purity. As this opens more delicious. Just seeps into the palate. Almost this cherry anise cranberry otherworldly thing. Some spice. This vintage is more very good 1er cru on the palate. Very good but not elite density. But very good. Some cranberry licorice as this opens.
Finish is cranberry flower extract. So clean and pure and elegant. Wow. Elite finish. Sticks to the palate and just sits there defiantly. Eff you. I’m not leaving.

This hits with a strong perfume of forest berries, black plum, moss and oak. A hint of cool minerality, like mountain river stones. The palate is alive with tart, bright fruit, lifted and silky with prickly tannins. And a touch of va as seems typical for E&M. This is knock your socks off good now- can’t wait to see what it becomes in time.

Looked at Lyles, Matthew’s and Josh’s notes written in 2020. Needs a ton of air - about 2 hours to mellow out. Strong perfumed nose. In the glass cranberry, moss and what i call E&M black forest herbs, velvety, touch capsaicin, hint orange juice. Quite tannic. Fantastic fruit components develop over time! First cherries notes next are black currants and elderberry tones. What a trip!. NEEDS 2 hours of air. Drink now with a heavy decant and air? Yes 🙌. It is in a perfect spot despite the tannins. What a wine!!! I will drink this vintage up over the course of 24/25.

Sep 28th, 2024I did. see one comment were this wine lost it. But this bottle seems to be fine. Yet i would definitely pull the 17’s from the cellar and drink them up. Perfumed, Cumin - never had that in a wine. Crushed marble. Very good. Tons of tannins. Unique. More in 2 hours. Still great. Pine needles, More tomorrow.
