Excellent vintage, perfect tanin and balance.

Notes of black cherry with hint of anise atop a slight hint of brighter fruit, likely due to the combo of dried and fresh crushed fruit. Elegant texture, medium finish. — a year ago

Tastes like a French Chardonnay- plenty of oak, fools you that it's Italian! — 8 years ago
Everything you’d want in an amarone. Burst of flavor at the beginning that then settles back into a relaxed, elegant finish. On the palate, some black plum mixed with a very faint dried cranberry or cherry. It all resolved into a wonderfully balanced finish, that is almost floral, but it’s more deep and complex than just floral. — 10 months ago
A remarkable Italian red wine if there ever was one. Tenuta Santa Maria Amarone, in a word, gives so much of what we yearn in a fine wine. It’s absolutely beautiful with a smooth richness that paired perfectly with a grilled tomahawk steak. Jammy blackberry cobbler, cocoa, pencil shavings and dark minerals all float together toward a long, sumptuous finish. Amarones are my favorite reds. — 2 years ago
