Sicilian Grillo with a bit of age on it. Golden almost caramely hue in the glass. This is pretty dark for a white wine, it could almost look like a skin contact wine. The nose starts showing some light oxydative notes, with nutty touches, butterscotch, salted caramel, roasted pears, French pastry... This is very inviting.
The palate shows a great acid drive, some peary notes, some nutty notes too, a good width, some grip in the rear that could be almost or tannic origins, before a long, rather fresh peary finish that goes on for a while. It's about time to pop this one but it's really good now. A gastronomy wine. — 12 days ago

Dreamy is the word that comes to mind as the 2018 Vigna la Miccia Marsala Superiore Oro wafts up with a decadent blend of roasted almonds and hazelnuts, complicated by gingery spice and baked peaches. This opens with a pretty inner sweetness and oily textures that are perfectly offset by notes of spiced citrus, cloves, cedar and a bitter tinge of coffee grounds. It cleans up beautifully, ridiculously long and staining yet still fresh, leaving hints of cocoa and butterscotch to linger on the finish. (Eric Guido, Vinous, June 2024)

On the palate flavors of peaches, mango, and lemon flavors with notes of floral spice.
