Marchesi Antinori ‘Villa Antinori’ Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2013: Medium-bodied. Great balance. Excellent acidity & nice ripe tannins. The nose was very aromatic & inviting and the taste was red fruit focused: Strawberry & dark cherry with other notes of blueberry, tobacco, earth & oak. The finish was long & dry. For me, this Chianti Classico Riserva was hitting its prime; drinking perfectly & shining fresh & bright with each sip. Couldn’t get any better than enjoying with friends against this pretend Tuscan sunset. All in all, a great quality Chianti that stands out amongst the crowded Chianti offerings. Great week to all! Signorello Estate ‘Hope’s Cuvée’ Chardonnay 2014: Full-bodied. Full flavors. Rich balance with a creamy mouthfeel. Notes of apple, pear, citrus, honey, butter & oak. A beautiful & long flavorful finish. Paired perfectly with Cashew Crusted Mahi Mahi and an unforgettable Maui sunset! Great weekend to all! Cheers🍷 — 4 months ago
A bit dryer than summer sunset — 16 days ago
This is a wine I imagine sipping all summer on the coast, feeling the cool breeze balance out the day heat as I watch the sunset. Its so juicy, naturally sweet, fruity, light, and crisp! Just delicious! It's a wine you'll be sipping on the porch, with a salad, or maybe with a light caprese pizza.
Color: Very light that it almost clear like water.
Aroma: It could be the ambiance, but it smells fresh and sweet like white grape juice on the warm summer afternoons growing up in SoCal. It smells very juicy, like peaches and apricots. It has an aroma that reminds me of white peach tea, a super subtle floral aroma.
Taste: A light, delicate, refreshing flavor that's crisp and juicy in feel. It's very light in body with some lovely sweetness. I find the finish on my back teeth and cheeks and not on the tongue. It tastes like summer. It tastes juicy with very little minerality and just enough acid to provide some balance. — 3 months ago
Nose is floral with integrated richness. Expansive. As this opens you get the godspice. So penetrating and expansive. Elegantly rich. Mountain air infused with Chardonnay. Ocean air. Bit in a good way. Like you are watching the sunset on a cliff with a light breeze.
Palate is lovely rich fruit. Delicious. Good minerality. Almost a mountain meursault feel. Terrific crunchy acids as this opens. Oyster shells
Still a hint of oak. Should dissipate in 6-12 months.
Man this is a beautiful wine. It’s its own thang. Nothing exactly like it. Could be a higher score in 2 years.
