Ol Tuscan Aristocratic: gorgeous dark ruby w/noticeable bricking at edges: dusty country cherries & currants mingle with soil, worn leather & subtle spice. Something special about it - med bodied, well framed w/just enough acidity to spar w/surprisingly rugged tannins. Secondary elements really shine on mid palate. Graceful finish & cherry tinged follow through. Only thing holding this back is the marginal acidity. Drink up! — 5 years ago
€5 spar. Hervorragend! — 5 years ago
Dude...it’s like a kale salad with an extracted blackberries rolled in syrup, a green tomato a touch of minced pear and dressed with dusted with cocoa and matcha. The mouth feel, it’s west and juicy with some feisty muthafuckin’ tannins (that really just wanna spar and not actually fuck you up). Short answer: drink this shit and grab some funky ass cheese — 6 years ago
Light but fruity. Like it a lot, easy to drink. Soft tanines. Had it at John and Jokes house. He says it’s the “younger brother” to the Masi CampoFiorin 50yr that I like a lot from Spar. — 6 years ago
Wow nice one! Crisp acidity with long notes of melon and citrus ☀️. Smooth finish. Best rosé at Spar. — 9 years ago
At last I have found a classy Bordeaux at a classless price. I would fill my cellar with this delicious wine, full bodied, deep berry nose and a grown up finish. Happy! EUR 10 at the Spar in Val Thorens, France. — 11 years ago
So bright and perky for a 14 year old wine made from dried grapes! So bright and perky period, actually. Red-fruit forward but with plum fruit leather and dried apricot but like soaked in a brine of incense—there’s spice and leather hiding in there but the fruit leads the way. Heady. At least in alcohol department it’s a stunner in a leather jacket on a bike but once it escorts you to your picnic sport it’s all fancy, brie, baguette and grapes it may even peel for you (except not that because it’s tannins are so appealingly ripe).
It finishes like a likely spiced cordial who also knows how to spar, light on its surprisingly sturdy toes. — 2 years ago

9€ spar sehr gut — 5 years ago
Bought this at spar as was 50% off (should be chf 20) to drink at Nanikos. Really like it! “Wet” texture - Really not dry. Almost like juice. Quite fruity. It’s good! — 5 years ago
Super veel smaak. Licht droog in de afdronk. Geen metaalsmaak. Mooi gebalanceerd.

€11 spar. Sehr gut — 4 years ago
My ‘ house’ wine shared w friends & paired with baked Cod & Roquefort sauce, roasted vegetables, & barley. Pretty in color & on the palate: rusted rose hips, some distant forest floor. Medium plus acidity but enough to cut through the Roquefort sauce, & low enough tannins to not spar with the cod. — 5 years ago
Medium bodied smooth well rounded: elegant supple red, as it says on the bottle. A wonderful steal at £7.50 from the Spar. Perfect accompaniment to Sunday beef or lamb roast. — 5 years ago
One of best red wines since we arrived in Munich. Picked it up at a Spar by gardasee, great flavor and level of dryness and tannins — 6 years ago
Surprisingly tasteful and enjoyable all at once. Consumed in a hotel room in Vienna, Austria. One never knows what one might score from the grocery store around the corner. — 6 years ago
Very unique wine.....Enjoy this light spar with , fruity upfront but dry finish. — 11 years ago

Dark, slightly clingy purple with near opaque core. Inviting nose and full-bodied palate yield ashen blueberry, ripe black plum, and light graphite. Velvety medium plus tannins buffeted by light French oak. Finish is lengthy and dark chocolate infused. Well-structured but still with rich warm-climate fruit. An excellent food--friendly Merlot that can spar with the best of the Right bBank. Drink now through 2030 with a Porterhouse or beef stew. — 2 years ago
