Hohberg Trockenbeerenauslese Ortega 2013

Made from the curious Ortega grape (Müller Thurgau x Siegerrebe). Brown golden color. Fresh nose with hints of mocca and caramel. Nice acidity with lemonzest and orange bitters. Paired perfectly with Crème Brulee.
Interesting glass.

Again another super vintage of this wine. Refreshing crisp melon notes and slight mineral aftertones. — 4 years ago

Finger Lakes Siegerrebe 2013

Yum! Why haven’t we been enjoying Siegerrebe the whole time? What is it? As it turns out, this grape is a cross between Gewurtraminer and Madeleine Angevine from the early 20th century Germany. Nowadays, it’s primarily grown only in Canada and Upstate NY. Playful and off-dry without being too sweet, it’s a fun quaff that I recommend if you can find it. This will also pair well with spicy foods. — 5 years ago
