Fleury Pere & Fils

BdN Brut Blanc de Noirs Pinot Noir

Not sure what this cost my friend at Erewhon but the head of it came clean off with a butchers knife and hard to believe this is a zero additions organic alcoholic version of cherry 7up. 2015 showing off some extra pizzazz for this fireworks sideshow. I’ve been waiting decades for this! HIGHLY CONSUMABLE! Agreed! — 4 years ago

Sierra Nevada Brewing Company

Coffee Stout

Black coffee colored, with a root beer top encircling a pod of crumpet bubbles. Nice look. Turkish coffee sweetness, dark chocolate wafer; less sweet, and finally toasted-black almond and cocoa pod. Vanilla and toffee-brickle olfactory sideshow. Awesome espresso meets Chicory coffee entry to a firm, medium bodied beer with a balance of acidity and sweetness, but bound with a streaky savory-bitter. The effervescence is LW but lifts the heavy coffee taste, allowing a tart cherry-chocolate malt and date to cast faint shadows across the black.

Alexandre Rochette & Cie

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2005

Smooth and round, dark fruits and a hint of spice. Not the most complex or compelling but a great sideshow to a fantastic roast pork. Friday night quarantine win. — 5 years ago
