Shangri-La Sacred Heart Sinong Village 2018.
This is a single village wine from the Yunnan region in China. An exceptional blend of 90% Cab Sauv. and 10% Cab Franc. Very aromatic and impressive layers of dark berry, cherry. Nice balance of wood and vainilla notes. Very leathery, chocolate and espresso notes. Long finish and resembles a Bordeaux Style, sort of Pauillac, as it is silky and smooth. — a year ago
From the garages of Shangri-La. 5000 bottle production. Lovely minty cabernet nose, powerful, lifted midpalate that somehow had a Sichuan peppercorn character (lightest flash of citrus), and exceptional finish. Not cheap but well worth it & not least if paired with seared yak & matsutake or something with decent weight. Whereas it overpowered the the crispy pork belly. To watch. — 2 years ago

Simple, inoffensive. Some juiciness. Dry tannin but not much for the grape. Not so concentrated. Easy and smooth. — 11 years ago

Shangri-La 2600 – Chardonnay / 2022
Shangri-La (Yunnan) – China 🇨🇳
Overview
A 100% Chardonnay from the high-altitude vineyards of Shangri-La at 2,600 meters above sea level. Crafted in small quantities and entirely by hand, this wine showcases the unique terroir of Yunnan’s Himalayan foothills, cool nights, strong sun, and pristine mountain air.
Aromas & Flavors
Expressive notes of orchard fruit, apple, pear, and ripe peach, are lifted by hints of citrus blossom, white flowers, and a delicate touch of minerality. Subtle oak influence provides whispers of vanilla and toast.
Mouthfeel
Medium-bodied with precise balance. The cool climate altitude lends finesse and a refreshing spine of acidity, while the texture remains smooth and elegant, leading to a clean, persistent finish.
Food Pairings
Pairs beautifully with miso-glazed cod, roast chicken with herbs, vegetable stir-fry, or fresh dumplings. Also an excellent match with creamy cheeses like young Brie.
Verdict
A rare and refined Chardonnay that reflects both craftsmanship and terroir. This is an exceptional showcase of how far Chinese fine wine has come, offering elegance and originality at once.

Shangri-La Sacred Land 2020 from Xidang, Rongzhong, and Sinong Villages. A decent blend of 95% Cab Sauv. and 5% Cab Franc. A striking punch on the Rustic side with all dark baked cherry. Intense and powerful with bite, bone-dry, earthy and generous on licorice. Similar to Bordeaux from St. Stephè style. — a year ago
