Medium ruby garnet , medium terracotta rim . Quite reserved at first with some sweet spice and touch anis and strawberry, red cherry notes . Red plum tea , touch of seaside as well. On the palate this is quite nicely sweet with red fruits , delicate and perfumed . Cherry , strawberry , touch of anis and sweet tannin , balanced acidity and generous finish . Medium garnet , wide light garnet rim. Touch volatile at first , high toned summer fruits , but with more time this becomes more focused with porcini, cedar , aromatic black tea , orange rind . On the palate this is really still very fruit driven , with lots of summer fruits , strawberry , blackberry , spiced dark cherries, beef extract , liquorice and dried rose . Balanced acidity and still quite present gritty tannin . This is still showing quite young and fruit driven , enjoyable and really good now , will no doubt have a long life ahead , from now and over the next 10 - 15 years . — 4 months ago

Classic Barolo via the stellar 2010 vintage (now +15 yrs). Medium / pale garnet and pours to a transparent center. Pop-and-pour to taste, with a much needed 2-hour decant to follow. Bone dry, high tannin and medium+ acidity, just like I like it. Tons of dark red fruit; this is drinking exceptionally well now, but would certainly benefit from 10-15+ more years in the cellar as the nose continues to develop. The finish is long / strong and heavily structured; simply a gorgeous expression of the Rocche dell’Annunziata Riserva! — 4 months ago
