Purple, dense, high pigment extraction. Black currant and tobacco on nose, black plum and blackberry in mouth. Medium skin astringency, tart and puckery but fruit forward. Light alcohol. Love this style of Malbec, highly drinkable. Worth decanting but I lack the patience and just dig in. — 3 months ago
We visited this winery a few days ago. Thoroughly enjoyed the conversation with the winemaker, completely enjoyed how he makes the wines and were drawn in by how good the wines tasted. Out tonight enjoying salmon and this bottle shows beautifully. Some light dark berries and earth tones couple to make a very soft, wonderful Pinot. — 8 months ago
One of the best values around. I don’t know why I want to even alert others to this wine, it will make it more inaccessible, but all I can say: GET IT! — 6 days ago
A young Gruner but still a wonderful expression of citrus and oil mixed together. Had this as a sipping wine pre dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. Glad I have more in the rack. — 22 days ago
New vintage! Pale yellow, excellent clarity. Citrus, thyme and black pepper notes in nose. High acid, good body, lots of skin tannins given blanc de noir style of 100% Cabernet Franc. Flavor descriptors of lime peel, lime, thyme and black pepper apply. Mineral finish — 6 months ago
Let it open awhile, at least 45 minutes. It’s a lighter style of Malbec, we need more examples of it out there. Yummy. Blueberry aroma and flavor, blackberry flavor with depth and length, if you are patient enough, seed bitterness finish. Light alcohol, light acid roundness, heavy pigment extraction but almost no skin astringency. There’s a nice playoff between the fruit, acid and bitterness. — 13 days ago
I’ve been excited to revisit Duncan Savage’s eponymous red from the 2018 vintage, which I last tried around four years ago having just shaken off a bout of Covid, senses struggling. Even then, it was clear how promising this wine was, and now, with a little more bottle age, it’s absolutely singing. It’s a pure, bright fruited 100% Syrah which has a tremendous savoury character, with a telltale bolt of iron on the nose. On the palate it has enormous structure, with sappy blood orange fruit and white pepper, and wonderful minerality. This is such an utterly drinkable wine, with more than enough in the tank for another decade or two. Wonderful stuff. — 7 months ago

New vintage, new label, still a funky take on cab franc. Back label is fairly accurate: unfiltered (ruby red, moderate pigment extraction very good clarity), raspberry, pepper notes (black and white), black tea on finish. The incense remark is sandalwood to me, barrel extraction I’d imagine. Lighter phenol character than I’ve had from carbonic laceration in, say, Oregon Pinot noirs. Definitely stem tannins on the finish. Different, rustic yet refined. Me likey — 8 days ago
