California Old Vine Zinfandel. No doubt a blend from two or more counties of origin. Dark ruby red, very good clarity, high pigment extraction. Strawberry on nose, cherry and plum in mouth. 14.5% alc/vol. smooth mouthfeel initially but some skin astringency on finish. Decant. Tar and eucalyptus emerge after 30 minutes. — 25 days ago
Some lift on mid-palate with acid on finish. I’ll allow it. — a month ago
Blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, with splashes of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec all SLD estate fruit, deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits, oak and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cherry and currants with tobacco and herb spice. Fine smooth tannins, approachable, long finish ending with fruit, oak, spice and herb mineral character. This continues to drink beautifully, great pizza wine (not drinking high end CA Cabernet w/pizza like @Dave), I expect this will be a go-to pizza wine for me for quite a while!! — 6 days ago
