The longer you can decant the better. Really opens up after couple hours. Dark black cherry, blueberry, great balance with earthiness. Powerful tannins mellow up over time. Hints of green pepper. Drank wonderfully tonight with friends at Rendezvous. — 4 years ago

Bleu Rendezvous, Sanibel — 3 years ago
Delicious, but definitely not quite in it’s prime. After a few more years this will be a star. The rendezvous is showing off now - I want to revisit this in a few years. I get strong notes of tobacco, herbs, and smoke balanced with some black cherry. Stronger acidity than than the rendezvous. This would make a great dinner wine! — 4 years ago
Really really good. I drank 3/4s of the bottle myself because I was not ready to share. — 2 years ago

Without a doubt, my favorite champagne producer. While the Crayeres and VP are my favorites, this was my first time enjoying the all Pinot meunier offering. This was opened alongside Billecart’s Rendezvous No1 and Prevosts’ La Closerie LC 17 (all three being Pinot meunier).
Disgorged mid 2019 after three years on the lees. This screamed Pinot meunier out of those three. The La Closerie (my favorite meunier champagne) has so much cardamom, and espresso coffee tones to it, and the Billecart seemed like a nice, bright champagne yet wasn’t overly expressive. The Egly had so much gummy fruit (like gummy fruit snacks), which I always get with meunier. Extremely expressive. Bright stone fruits on the nose along with spiced pear. Definitely a floral component...tangerine like. The palate is mostly racy at the core but surrounded by rich texture. An excellent representation of Pinot meunier. — 4 years ago

Nice aroma. Lovely mouthfeel. Ripe black and blue fruit, graphite, pencil shavings. Medium finish. Really enjoyed this with steak frites at Rendezvous. — 7 months ago
