Raspberry compote, incense, sassafras earthiness, licorice, herbal spice and violets/floral notes on the nose. Brambly fruit, soft tannin, boysenberry, and a touch of pepper on the palate with a hint of wet stone on the finish.

Fruit forward, violate, cherry compote, licorice, cola and raspberry on the nose. Raspberry/cherry on the palate with low-med tannin and bright acidity. Good juice. — 12 years ago

Barrel sample at the Santa Barbara Wine Seminar moderated by @Hawk Wakawaka. Duvarita is the former Presidio vineyard, further west and just outside the boundary of the Sta Rita Hills AVA. Much less new oak than than the Lato, still very young of course. Looking forward to tasting from bottle next year. — 11 years ago
