Lots of red fruit — raspberry, dark cherry — plus blackberry underneath. Vanilla and cola notes, along with some forest floor earthiness. Easy to drink 7 years in. More fruit forward than other vintages I’ve had. Quite good. — 3 years ago

Took one and a half hour to open to perfection. And perfection it was! The initial tight tannin structure opened up to layers of flavor of vibrant red and dark fruit, pie cherry, fig, hints of cinnamon, cedar and an earthy finish. — 8 years ago

Not nearly as well balanced as the 2011 vintage... This one is more acidic, more sour, but! There's hope first off air this one out for at least 3 hours and it'll already be better. Retasting five months later. Melon and citrus notes in nose initially. Similar flavors plus orchard fruit and apricot in mouth, lemony finish. Creamy, nuanced, lovely flavor profile, balanced acidity. A tad more skin astringency intensity than I’d like at first, but much to admire here as the wine integrates over time. Also, this is a much better wine than communicated by its labeling, IMHO. — 7 years ago
