The Gattavecchi family has been making wine in Montepulciano since the1950s, with the purchase of the Poggio alla Sala estate. Ruby with aromas of red berry, herb and floral notes. On the palate tart cherry and raspberry with spice and earthy herb notes. Firm tannins on medium finish ending with some earthy oak. Good now and over next 1-2 years. — 4 years ago

Colli senesi Chianti is probably the most underrated old world style wine on the planet. The nose is bacon fat, mixed with sopressata. The palate is smooth and drinkable. Perfect food pairing. The nose is the incredible part though. Wow. — 8 years ago
