Monday Night Football and N honest, organic Côtes du Rhône. The name means “bit of licorice” and it fits. Licorice is present in the nose, along with deep iodiney earthiness and dark blackberry skin fruit. Loads of gutsiness in the mouth. Good structure even though the acids are a tad lower than I ideally would like. Still, this is more enjoyable to me than the vast majority of blowsy 15% CDPs out there at triple to quadruple the price (I think this was somewhere south of $15).

Plough Monday Organic Abbey White Ale - the nose is fantastic! Honeysuckle with hints of licorice and aloe. The palate is interesting - bright initially, but broad and "soapy" mid-palate, with some hoppiness and pepper flavors. — 9 years ago

Their Organic Basil Ale. Lovely and surprisingly elegant, with a bit of spritz. The basil adds some freshness and a hint of sweet, with something like ginger and allspice on the back end. — 9 years ago

Chewy, pulpy mouth feel. A bit of bell pepper, but knows it's place, a few steps back from the foreground. Wish I had a steak in front of me, as it would pair very nicely. This could be a great wine for grilling this summer for those on a budget. Organic grapes. Inexpensive.
