Dr. Donald Olson founded Torii Mor in 1993 as a tribute to his late son Leif. The Olson Estate Vineyard was planted in 1972 and one of the oldest vineyards in Oregon, sitting high in the Dundee Hills Appellation at 800 feet on just under 15 acres of Pinot Noir. Aromas of rich berry fruits, black tea and spices. Sweet flavors of raspberry and cherry with a umami character and soft tannins. Lingering finish ending with mineral spice tones. Nice value. — 9 years ago
From Tobala, the tiny and wild maguey. This is really good. Lots more appreciation for Mezcal after drinking through the Del Maguey line up with @Steve Olson a few weeks ago. — 10 years ago
1995 Olson Vyd Zin. Still alive and, umm, kicking. Actually delicious. Earthy, dark cherry flavors. 13.7 stated ABV. Label says "tiny 3 acre Olson Vineyard is located on steep hillside terraces above the Dry Creek Valley." Digging the aged Zin these days. — 11 years ago
Finally in the US - very sexy new project in Millahue - just west of Apalta - Pacific freshness - Chilean weight and perfectly balanced ripeness - high class tannins and a seamless demi-glace texture - elegance to spare - thank you Steve Olson for the experience!! — 11 years ago

Very decent cabs althou not as complex but easy drinking cabs. Aroma is quite less than when I tasted it during the state line liquor store tasting session but most likely due to cold temp at my place - snowed in and too cold temp for red wine. Still enjoyable — 10 years ago

The 2016 Pinot Noir Monterey County is a gorgeous appellation-level wine, not to mention just flat out delicious. A wine of impeccable balance and total class, the 2016 is impossible to resist. A high percentage (85%) of whole clusters adds layers of aromatic nuance without pushing the wine into realm of greenness. Sweet red cherry, tobacco, mint, crushed flowers and mint are some of the many nuances that develop in the glass. Fruit sources are Coastview and Kevin Olson. The Monterey County is bottled after about eleven months in barrel, earlier than the vineyard designates. There is so much personality and character here. In short, don't miss it!
