58% Shiraz with rest of the blend icluding Tempranillo, Zinfandel, Grenache, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, Mourvèdre, Nebbiolo and Graciano. Light salmon pink color. Aromas and flavors of fresh strawberries, raspberries, watermelon and rose petals. Additional Touch of lemon zest, minerals and saline on the pallet. Very fruit forward on the finish. Noticeable acidity. Bright and refreshing. — 3 years ago
Megan borrowed from Anna. Enjoyed this for a white. Tasted like a nice marbough — 4 years ago
First found this wine probably 11 years ago at the Annual Cape Mentelle Cabernet tasting where Cape Mentelle pits their wine against leading Cabernets from around the world including Bordeaux, Napa, NZ, and other Australians. On this occasion the 2008 vintage. This Houghtons stood out on the day. Dense in colour Barb said pitch black. Dusty cassis notes - oak is there but it doesn’t dominate - balanced and delicious. — 2 years ago
Brilliant silver-straw. Lime zest, honeysuckle, succulent herbs and chalky minerals on the incisive nose. Dry, tightly focused and lithe on the palate, offering intense citrus and orchard fruit flavors that reveal a hint of waxiness and a refreshingly bitter quinine note. Shows a delicate touch and finishes clean, nervy and quite long, with resonating mineral character and a hint of lemon thyme. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, July 2021)

Tree Kilpatrick
The OZ classic blend of Shiraz and Cab. 60/40. Dark plum skin color. Aromas are enjoyable with a bit of wet gravel, flint and red/black fruits. Wood oil on the end. Flavors are complex and big. Plums, figs and black colored berries/cherries. Bit of menthol (or is that eucalyptus?). This is a classic, well made Australia red. Full and enjoyable, but not fruit bombed or too much of anything. — 11 hours ago
