Amazing Cab at Black Derby with Res, as good as Simi — 6 years ago
2007 vintage in magnum. Deep, dark and luscious. Oakwood, cinnamon, dark berry fruits, earthy. Lovely smokey notes. On the palate, very balanced. Medium plus acidity, medium integrated soft tannins, plush mid palate, dark plum, layers of flavour. Good fruit. Great length. Very enjoyable. — 9 years ago
Vintage Lambic “which has matured for three years in oakwood barrels and has been selected for its exceptional colour, taste and flavour.”
“Powerful yet elegant, Bruocsella can be considered the missing link between the worlds of wine and beer. Since there is no secondary fermentation in the bottle Bruocsella is a flat, non-sparkling beer.”
“This aristocratic beer is to our national beer patrimony what Mouton-Rotschild, Petrus or Romanée-Conti are to the wines.”

Extra Old Reserve Plantation Rum, Guatemela XO Single Cask Rum. Pale amber hue. Wonderful nose - cinamon, clove, treacle, butterscotch, Manuka honey, ripe banana, nail polish. Very aged and hugely complex. On the palate, off dry, medium body, warming alcohol - integrated, pronounced intensity: vanilla, oakwood, char, pineapple, banana flambé. Also some tobacco notes on the mid palate. Finish is remarkably long and lingering. Outstanding example of its type. High number of esters would suggest extended fermentation period and use of low wine and high wine retorts in double pot distillation and possible use of dunder. — 9 years ago
Medium bodied with smooth finish! Yummy, easy wine - 1st time at Oakwood Club — 3 years ago

Great 2013 Nebbiolo for the price ($20) Arrow Wine Oakwood — 8 years ago
2005 vintage. At Texture. On the verge of deep ruby. Big powerful whiff of smoke, reductiveness, black fruits, sweet spice and Oakwood. On the palate rich and spicy, deep concentration, noticeable tannic structure. Medium plus finish. This is another big wine from this producer. Not really my style: hammer to crack a nut stuff. — 9 years ago
