I have no idea(yet) of the grapes in this.
The label says the vines are up to 140 yrs.
N: Lots of blood, tobacco, saline qualities. Poured blind, one may think an earthy burg that’s young. Some dark berried fruit. Liquorice.
P: Very delicate, much lighter on the palate than the nose would lead. Open for an hour, no tannic grip yet. Lots of woodland flavors. Tempered ( my guess) by an Atlantic clime. Easy , yet 14°
Glad it came home with me.

Good wine easy to drink had with steak — 3 years ago
The wine appears as a very pale yellow in the glass. Its nose suggests more citrus and minerals than flowers and fruit. The aromas come across as a savory salinity, not the dainty sweetness which afflicts many Pinot Grigio wines. The palate follows suit, with a bit of the sea in the flavor profile that centers largely on limes, lemons and grapefruit. The finish is medium long and the minerals are the lasting impression. The acidity is zippy and fresh enough for seafood and salad pairings. — 3 years ago
Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, not Pinot Gris. Had a glass of this with dessert - no written notes again. Truly unctuous and delicious. Ripe pear and quince notes with low acid and profound intensity. A petrochemical/paraffin note. Made at the winery where we are having lunch. An excellent effort for a dessert wine from Montalto. Great full body wine. Packs the kick of cab. Spicy and not too sweet. Good finish in back of mouth. Buy again. Bought at Bonnie Brae, Xander rec. — 3 years ago
