A surprisingly serious blend of Spätburgunder, Regent and Cabernet Mitos from the Bodensee.
Aged 3y in used barrique this is very Bordeaux’esque.
Black & blue fruit with some earthy notes and a touch of vegetal / green pepper.
On the palate this shows nice, present, slightly sandy tannins and fresh acidity.
Nice purity of black & blue fruit. Only with time the vegetal notes increase, better drink up before that.

Wonderful dark fruit aromas underpinned by oak, the complex palate is long, with waves of summer fruit flavours, enhanced by the wine being unfiltered. First German wine I have tasted, and not going to be the last! Aldi €8.99 absolute bargain. — 8 years ago
