Hello everyone. I have opened and am enjoying the 2019 Domaine Cherrier Pére et Fils Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc.
Onnthe nose there is grapefruit, lemon/lime, green apple, white flowers, good minerality and wet concrete.
On the palate there is lime, green apple, white peach, a bit of salinity, minerality and wet rocks.
The wine is medium bodied very good balance with medium + acidity and a long clean fresh mineral finish. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. We are experiencing some very cold weather here in the Chicagoland area with lots of snow and more on the way. Please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂 — 5 years ago
A unique cab, lighter than anything I’ve had yet still had good body and complexity and some fruit. Delicious and drinkable but with sophistication. Had with peppercorn encrusted filet mignon, would have been a better match without the pepper — 8 years ago
Holy cow, does the acidity stick with this wine, despite the age. Really really good. — 9 years ago
A nice classic Saint Emilion wine aged properly, not exuberant, but simple and well — 12 years ago
This is the 2013 Bouchard Pére & Fils Monopole Beaune De La Mousse Premier Cru Pinot Noir. From Beaune Cóte D'Or, France.
On the noe there is cherry, strawberry, raspberry, some funk, rose petals, herbaceous, licorice and forest floor.
On the palate there is cherry, raspberry, strawberry, licorice, spice, mushroom, some oak and dark earth.
This is medium bodied with a fresh crisp mouthfeel medium to medium + acidity and medium+ grippy mouthcoating tannins that has a medium to medium+ red fruit tulled soil finish. This has many years of life left. Have a great weekend please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 4 years ago
Nice balance of fruits—paired well with filet mignon — 9 years ago
Dark fruit with spicy velvety undertones of violets and herbs. Rich finish. Filet mignon really went well with it. Surprise Cotes-Du-Rhone that is a cut above other CDRs. — 6 years ago
Smooth like velvet - highly recommend this CDP - had it with filet mignon with sauce prepared with this wine, carrot, shallots, porcini and potatoes au gratin — 8 years ago
First Jura. Life changing! — 9 years ago
Balance! From Savigny-lès-Beaune, the Clos du Roi 2010 is a rock star. It's the reason to choose Burgundy over Pinot Noir grown here in the US. Bell peppers, cucumbers, and oak on the nose. Round fat fruit dark and ripe strawberries and blueberries but not your traditional American fruit bomb. The oak lingers with an almost saltiness/sweetness from the terrior of Burgundy. Granny Smith apples, but not sour - sweet with a tang. Medium finish, and not dry at all. Christmas Eve meal of 12 oz. lean filet mignon rare with a peppered crust. My thought was that the steak would run over the wine but it held its own. The subtlety of the wine flavor actually enhanced the pepper in the steak. I am a fan of The House of Chanson, and their premier Burgundy. Will my countrymen produce such a subtle companion to Christmas dinner? — 11 years ago
