Les Rugiens Pommard 1er Cru Pinot Noir 1985

Wow. 1985. Amazingly soft and elegant. With Coq au Vin and fire in Vermont. Can we ask for much more. All the best for 2020 everyone! — 23 days ago

Butteaux Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2017

Personally, I need a wine paired for cooking as much as for eating! And chile, a hot kitchen is made for Chablis. Broke out a young, focused, ripe lemon and chalky goodness — 5 days ago

Grands Epenots Pommard Pinot Noir 2008

Ruby red with slight bricking around the edges. Dried herbs, black cherry & cranberry. Fuller bodied, but acidity keeps it from being too heavy or jammy. Smooth finish. — a month ago

Les Champs Grilles Saint-Amour Gamay 2016

Haven’t had much (any?) Saint Amour before so not sure how it typically compares to other Cru Beaujolais. But this one at least is redolent with violets, tangy raspberry, cherries, blackberries, dried herbs and earth, with maybe a slight charred quality on the finish although that may just be the power of suggestion from the name of the lieu dit. Satin smooth, Burgundian texture — 8 days ago

California Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

This should be their Cab Sav. Nice mouth feel, dry, with dark fruit and a little tobacco. Gift from my SIL for Christmas. Enjoying with a nice spicy taco soup and some football. — 5 days ago
