Les Rugiens Pommard 1er Cru Pinot Noir 1985

On this very troubling night in NYC, let’s drink 85 Burgundy. And this was stunning. Direct from Claudine. I hope you are all safe and healthy in these crazy times. These are the times to dig deep in your cellar. Why else lay bottles down other than for times like this...? — 16 days ago

Le Clousot Arbois Trousseau 2017

raspberries, bell peppers, spice and quite a bit of brett, at least in this bottle. Chewy tannins, fine acid and concentration. Nice. — 2 days ago

Le Vieux Donjon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2017

Why not my favorite vintage so far, I feel this carries the warmth well. Rich and ripe without pushing the limits too much. The extra SY and MO components lend themselves well and this has some flash and darkness that bring a wild side to it all. Ive found some ‘17s to have significant brett but I think this balances well. Tannins are ripe but could use some more time to integrate a touch and soften their chew. Ripe black cherry compote, Chambord, roasted plums, animal, sweet spice and clovey layers of brett. 60 GR 20 SY 18 MO 2 CIN — 8 days ago

Montmain Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2013

2013. Intense, energetic lively. Lemon verbena nose with searingly fresh grapefruit on the palate. This is as alive as if it were bottled yesterday. I wish I could add more detail, but this is disappearing a bit too quickly. — 12 days ago

Bio Tradition Morgon Gamay 2017

The Coronavirus does not prevent us from tasting a few good bottles, the proof: This delicious Morgon in Biodynamics. Medium-bodied with subtle notes of peonies, roses, wilted flowers ... Magnificent delicacy. Beware of the dishes you serve with, it is really a delicate wine, which will quickly be denatured by foods with too marked a taste. Could spend 2/3 years in the cellar — 13 days ago

thank you Peter, this is an opportunity to do things that we are not used to doing. Prepare yourself, it will risk going through all the countries.

Cuvee William Pommard Pinot Noir 2017

Lyle Fass
9.3

Haunting aromas. Berry melange and cherry flower presented in a confectionary way. Very stoney. Classic Pommard. Palate is ripe, juicy and barely sweet with great energy and purity. So straight. Really really well made. Deep, energetic and terrific fruit while also exhibiting mineral clarity that is sensational. Very velvety tannins. — 21 days ago
