2001 Sloan CS. Post-Thanksgiving dinner w McC at Jar. Decanted as we sat and let it air in glass for ~45 mins before drinking. Massive wine. Calmed down a lot over the next 30-40 mins but could have decanted it hours earlier. Drank this in comp to 2007 Hundred Acre. I preferred this over the HA. — 7 years ago
Dry Brut MCC. Good quality, you can feel the brioche and the dry fruits. — 8 years ago
2014 COS Nero d’Avala. Dinner at Gracias w McC and K. We love this wine. Easy to drink without food, but substantial enough for food as well. — 8 years ago
Delicious Rose prosecco. Had it at MCC expo — 9 years ago
2009 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Chevalier Montrachet. Holiday dinner w McC and M at Il P. We think it has prem-ox issue. Got better as it sat in the glass, but not the best version of this wine we've had. — 10 years ago

2001 DRC La Tache. Dinner at Rep w DS, A&L S, McC. Amazing. Did not decant. Much bigger than the ‘85 Griotte-Chambertin. — 8 years ago
Magnum 1982 Pichon Longueville Contesse de Lalande. First time any of us had tried this. July 4 group dinner at Bouch (A&S, J&D B, McC). Loved this. Decanted and served pretty quickly. — 8 years ago
1997 Screaming Eagle. Dinner w McC and K at Il P. Didn’t decant. It was stunning. K has never had it before. Such a treat. — 9 years ago
Delicious, a bit like Groth, tried at MCC wine expo — 9 years ago
1996 Domaine Leroy Romanee St. Vivant burgundy. Dinner at Bst w McC. Awesome! None of us had tried this wine before- we really loved it. It was spicy and fruity and floral. A lot going on and all melding together nicely- so no singularly overt characteristic. — 10 years ago
2007 Hundred Acre. Post-Thanksgiving dinner w McC at Jar. Decanted abt 1 hr before drinking. Still huge. Comp against ‘01 Sloan. This lacked some of the finesse that the Sloan showed. This is also so massive and too young to drink. — 7 years ago
Very tropical fruits , crisp with good length . Certainly one of the most interesting SA sparkling wines . Really good — 7 years ago
2005 Harlan. Drank at HB w RR, McC. This was everyone’s favorite. No decanting. Huge and opened up in the glass. — 8 years ago
Best MCC I’ve had #pghwinefestival — 8 years ago
1999 DRC Richebourg burgundy. Dinner w McC and K at Il P. Stunning. K had never had this wine before. Stood it up for 2 days before drinking. Decanted for 30-45 min before serving. “Masculine” was the description we decided on. Perfectly balanced. — 9 years ago
1990 Pichon-Longueville Baron bordeaux. Dinner at Bst w McC. Had this after the '96 Leroy RSV burgundy. We got lots of earthy, woodsy notes, along with leather, spice, and dark red fruit. Drank so beautifully. Outstanding. — 10 years ago
