Rutherford Red Bordeaux Blend

Tasted this three times in past four months. A really good wine but not exceptional.

Revisiting this 2001 after the first bottle was disappointing. Sadly it still underwhelms.

Probably past its prime but still nice. 2001

Big brawny fruit. New oak still wrapped up 15 years post vintage. 2001.

2001 Sloan CS. Post-Thanksgiving dinner w McC at Jar. Decanted as we sat and let it air in glass for ~45 mins before drinking. Massive wine. Calmed down a lot over the next 30-40 mins but could have decanted it hours earlier. Drank this in comp to 2007 Hundred Acre. I preferred this over the HA.

As good a Napa cab as I’ve had.

2001 Sloan- very good but drink now if you have any left

2001 vintage - Powerhouse CA cab. Cassis mixed with blue fruits. No secondary characteristics have emerged. Huge body with a 45 second finish. Needs at least another decade in the cellar.

Drank some good wines tonight but Sloan set the bar. Exceptional on every level but still needs time to lay down.

Wow - splendid with Xmas beef tenderloin. Rich berry/dark cherry and fresh cut leather on nose. Drinks very smooth with surprisingly light tannins for 10 y/o red wine, predominantly can franc
