Chard/ Sauv Blanc from the North. It’s all about the blanched almonds, marzipan, & stone fruits. Medium acidity. Has a rather stoic, even severe quality which begs for some off setting zany food. — 4 years ago

Some of us, being Nebbiolo supplicants, love Ghemme for its paradoxical meaty, bloody, yet light qualities. This has it in spades, on the edge of cherry cough syrup but never quite there. The woods, especially on the nose. This wine would benefit from a large glass.
It’s a bit of a sneaky, under the radar winery, hopefully for a bit still.
Lots of cherries, loam, dirt, blood, stoniness. Delicious. A ‘17 feels just about right. — 2 years ago
