Yang Yang ! Toasted Bitter almonds, hazelnuts, caramels, bitter dark chocolate, cedar but also mineral salty and flowers. Border line brandy that will please bourbons and whiskies drinkers alike…. Complex and fascinating ! Served chill and make sure no one bothers you for a while … A treat for serious #gozones … If you happen to smoke premium cigars, this is next level! — 5 years ago
A nice, highly drinkable Amontillado. Candied fruited, Mandarine peel and toasted nuts + a wonderful salty finish to the (slightly more than) off dry body.
Pass on the olives and salted almonds! — 6 years ago
On the nose it reminds me of a tawny port. Lovely hazelnut colour, rich with just a hint of sweetness. A tremendous finish with notes of caramel. Another fantastic wine from Lustau and once more a snip at the price. — 7 years ago
There are worse ways to travel than with Sherry and Oysters at the Fortnum and Mason counter in Heathrow.
The wine was like the ambiance: comfortable, sleek, and stylish, but also a little rushed and, curiously, it felt, in transit. Still, worse ways to unwind a an airport after a long day. — 9 years ago
Actually it's the oloroso. It's like drinking salted caramel, I mean this a high compliment. — 9 years ago

2022/9. Drunk over several days, this was surprisingly rancio at first, but that fell away after a day or two. Even then, though, this was much richer than I had expected, with lots of thick dried fruit, nuts and caramel - more oxidative than flor, definitely not a bone dry fino-adjacent wine. — 4 years ago
2020 summer. I picked this up when I was itching for some sherry and had to go with the selection at Tokyu. Expecting something basic, I was pleasantly surprised - this had nice intensity and character. Very old and rare sherries aren’t quite the bargains they once were, but the basic bottles from good producers still are awfully satisfying and very fairly priced. — 6 years ago
