Vermut Lustau Blanco Vermouth

i had this vermouth with sesame balls. i added seltzer as i drank more. it was light, herbaceous, notes of chamomile and a splash of lemon. the lemon became more present as the seltzer was added. — 2 months ago

East India Solera Sherry Palomino Fino Pedro Ximénez

This wine has a burnished look, deep brown. The nose is a treat all on its own. There are aromas of brown sugar, coffee and orange zest which combine for an amazing olfactory experience. The palate is just as joyful, with caramel, raisin and mocha notes. The acidity is fresh and exhilarating. Although the wine is described on the label as “cream,” it does not strike me as creamy. The viscosity is nice, though. It will pair well with dessert, or serve as one by itself. — 3 months ago

Vermut Lustau Rojo Vermouth

One of the very few times I’ve had Vermouth on its own. It was served as an aperitif and very enjoyable and rich with a lot of floral notes and some sweetness. — 6 months ago

Jalifa Aged 30 Years Solera Especial Amontillado Rare Old Dry Palomino

2023/4 holidays. Classic and wonderful - hugely aromatic, hints of flor / salinity but lots of nutty, caramel and dried fruit character give a sense of sweetness though the wine is dry, making it a great partner for aged hard cheeses. Good balancing acidity too. — 4 months ago

Almacenista José Luis González Obregon Amontillado del Puerto Palomino Fino 1855

2023/9-10. A very rich amontillado, with lots of dried fruits, walnuts and other oxidative notes. But the robust acidity and hint of flor reminds one of its origins… — 7 months ago
