Gran Reserva de la Familia Brut Nature Cava Macabeo-Xarel-lo-Parellada 2017

Made from Macabeu, Xarel·lo and Parellada grapes, bright pale gold with a frothy creamy mousse, small plentiful bubbles with a steady stream. Aromas of apple and citrus with toasty notes. Well integrated, nice mouthfeel, elegant long finish. Great value as an exceptional alternative to French Champagne. — 6 months ago

Cascina Lo Zoccolaio

Barolo Nebbiolo 2017

Bright Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, spices, oak and smoky tobacco notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and plum with notes of pepper, tobacco, cedar and vanilla. Long finish, nice balance with firm tannins, ending with oak and earthy notes. Ok but a few more years in the bottle might benefit! — 6 months ago

Decent pop ‘n pour Cava. A little rich and fat for my taste. — 8 months ago

Gran Seleccion Cordon Negro Brut Cava Macabeo-Xarel-lo-Parellada

A Fav! Clear pale lemon color with lively bubbles and light mousse. Fresh lively fruit aromas with a bright and crisp edge. On the palate ripe stone fruit flavors with a touch of citrus and yeasty notes. Medium finish, vivid acidity with a good balance. A real bargain for $12. Pop one open tonight! — 2 months ago

Poema

Metodo Tradicional Brut Cava Blend

For $11.50 per bottle, this Cava punches way above its price. Nice bubbles, slightly sweet, no off flavors. It doesn’t compare with Champagne but it’s not really trying to be Champagne. And it is better than many other Cavas I have had. — 6 months ago
