Great. First time having Negrette variety. Very easy to drink but still has a slight spiciness to it like a Cab Franc. Definitely want to buy again. — 6 years ago
I really appreciate this wine being a Italian white wine. Perfect for summer. — 7 years ago
Zacht maar uitgesproken zomerwijn lekker bij rauwe vis — 7 years ago
Completely unexpected. Who knew 20 year old PG would still be this delicious — 6 years ago
Very impressive in a Pommardian style - also reminded me some Williamette Valley Pinot - had quite a few of the secondary aromas you get from really good Pinot: forest floor, black tea, sassafras, licorice, some subtle spice, mushroom (savory) & copious amounts of cherry/strawberry/rhubarb. Well balanced - light to medium bodied, damn near elegant and really impressive quality vis-a-vis $ — 7 years ago
Deep, dark golden color. Nose of tart apples. Starts subtle, then a sturdy finish of oak. Attention grabbing. 39kn. — 7 years ago
At Italian wine dinner and had this woe. Very good — 7 years ago
Flight 4. Perhaps lost in the shuffle a bit without a distinctive personality vis-a-vis the surrounding wines. On its own with a richer cuisine I’m sure it would be quite nice — 8 years ago
Solid effort from a classic, even tempered vintage…this likely spent approx 8 mon in barrel, and the downward slope is evident of less tannic input. Nevertheless, and a nice stewed red fruit core is delish as a sipper or with lighter proteins. Acids have waned a bit to far for serious food cleanup. Our house made Thai coconut beef curry soup was even a little too much, but it still was delicious to have in between long bites and afterwords with Keylime pie. This is my aging/cellar project… Learn how vintages and terroir match with winemaking and longevity. Lesson learned here… as the 2010 is the benchmark of a plus Merlot from the Monticello AVA. The 2010 is twice the wine that this is… Emphasizing the quality of the vintage vis-à-vis 2012 — 4 years ago
Very lovely laura loves it — 5 years ago
The Solis Vis is 100% Timorasso grape. The white wine is a pale straw yellow in the glass. Its nose gives off a wonderful salinity, with lime and minerals aplenty. The acidity is fine and the palate has citrus, apricots and peaches bursting forth. I’m always a sucker for any Italian white wine not named Grigio, and this one does nothing to dissuade me. — 6 years ago

As usual, this is the one dry Hexamer wine to perpetuate the tradition of Prädikat, and that is done solely to satisfy the Norwegian importer who takes all of it. (All to one country, yes; but this has become a high-volume cuvée by estate standards.) The fruit comes from the Eisendell as well as from a site known as Grosser Stein for the huge stone that marked the boundary between the holdings of the Rheingrafen (counts) and those of the Disibodenberg monastery. Picked nearly a month earlier than was the highly-impressive 2016, this weighs-in at 11.9% alcohol, and that shows in an attractive sense of levity and spring vis-à-vis Hexamer’s other dry Rieslings of this vintage. Fresh lime, apple, piquant aromas as well as a juicy, crisp-edged and pip-tinged presence on the glossy palate serve for penetrating. Subtly bitter but cooling and stimulating notes of melon rind compound the sense of crunch and piquancy while lovely, bittersweet inner-mouth perfume adds allure. The combination of vivacity and refreshment with floral and mineral intrigue renders the buoyant, bell-clear, seriously-sustained finish next-sip compelling. Malvasia, not Pinot Grigio. Way robust orange wine. Apricot, apple, herbs, grasses, minerals, full and long finish. — a year ago
