Kvareli, Kakheti

Kakheti Rkatsiteli 2018

Made from the Rkatsiteli grape variety grown in the Kakheti region of the Country of Georgia. This wine was fermented on the skins in Qvevri, large clay jars buried under the ground, following the 8000 year old Georgian traditional method. The wine’s amber color is a result of its extended contact with the skins. Nose and palate of dried peaches, apricots, nuts, baking spices, herbs, honey, sea water. Medium full body, medium plus acidity, high tannins. — 13 days ago

KindzMaruali Semi-Sweet Red Blend 2017

This wine is a truly enjoyable experience. This wine is deep and complex, rich and velvety, with notes of deep, dark fruit and a sweetness that is non offensive and almost port like. This wine is perfect for a spicy steak dinner or curling up in front of a fire on a cool night — a month ago

Dila-O Rkatsiteli Mtsvane 2019

Not a bit of Georgian script anywhere on the bottle, but a big square of marketing copy on the back label. Ok, great—these wines need more exposure! Medium amber (amber—so much nicer than “orange”), light tannin, apricot, great acidity, and refreshing in a brilliant way. Perfect with a range of foods. A stunning value. #georgianwine — 14 days ago

Mukuzani Dry Red

Dry, full bodied, with that stick in your mouth finish that is heady but not overwhelming. Notes of dark fruits, inky and earthy in the mouth. The polish of french oak combines well with the earthy characteristics which are a trademark of Georgian wine — a month ago

ORGO cuvée Kisi Blend 2018

ORGO cuvée Kisi, Mtsvane, Rkatsiteli. Produced by: Teleda Ltd. Kisiskhevi, Telavi, Georgia.

Qvevri Amber Dry Rkatsiteli 2015

Prior notes apply. Second time visiting this and the pleasure is still very much there. That waxy nose with honey and pine. The palate is very dry with a perfect balance, a good acid drive, some matter on the sides, a good grip, honey waxy notes, tannins which lay a drying layer in the end. A wine to drink and think. — 25 days ago
